Industrial Revolution Inventions:  The first part of the Industrial Revolution (1700 - 1860) was characterized by inventions centered on Iron, Coal, Steam Power, Textiles and Agriculture. The Inventions of the Second Industrial Revolution (1850 - 1914) were characterized by new inventions that focused on Oil, Steel and Electricity. The inventions of the Industrial Revolution, and the new machinery produced at this time, had a massive impact on the methods used to manufacture goods, on transportation, weapons, food and communications. The Second Industrial Revolution inventions changed people's way of life from a rural agricultural environment to an urban city environment.

Second Industrial Revolution Inventions - Oil, Steel and Electricity: Inventors used electricity and petrol to power their inventions. The Second Industrial Revolution witnessed the introduction of the Electric Light, the Steel Mills, the Telephone and the Elevator.
